We always encourage SAGE Members to research candidates prior to voting. Below is a video clip of the question about Gifted Education that was asked during the “For the Future Candidates Forum – Northeast Tarrant County,” held on January 29, 2020, and hosted by the Grapevine-Colleyville ISD Council of PTAs and Raise Your Hand Texas.

Citizens were invited to submit questions prior to this candidate forum, and candidates gave their prepared answers at the forum. All Candidates were invited to the forum. The questions were read by the moderator, Southlake Mayor Laura Hill.

The video clip shows the question about gifted education. The candidates are running to represent GCISD-area citizens.

“In 2019, our Texas lawmakers repealed an allotment for Gifted Education in House Bill 3. How do you envision the state’s role in helping school districts continue to strengthen their specialized gifted and talented programs?”
