The January 2023 Educator of the Month goes to Nate Dunn.

As the Cross Timbers MS Engineering & Robotics teacher, and the CTMS FLL Robotics coach, Mr. Dunn works with a lot of the ASPIRE Academy students at CTMS. We are grateful for his commitment to exploring math and science, and making it fun every day.

NOMINATION SUBMISSION:

My child LOVES Mr. Dunn’s class. From the moment she gets in the car every day after school, she spends the entire drive talking about how much fun she had in Engineering. Mr. Dunn is also the coach for the FLL Robotics Team, with many ASPIRE students as members, and I’ve been so impressed by his leadership and dedication to the students.

Mr. Dunn hosted a scrimmage where over 20 teams from inside and outside GCISD competed in Robot Games. It was incredibly professional and organized and I overheard several parents from other schools commenting on how impressed they were by the event. Mr. Dunn has done such an amazing job at making Engineering fun and interesting and has also helped to foster social interaction, which is most important for ASPIRE Middle School students, with the Robotics team through a social events. He’s a great teacher, super dedicated, and my kid thinks he is cool, which is an impressive compliment from a middle schooler.
