We had a full house at September’s SAGE Brown Bag featuring Becky Manning, GCISD Director of Advanced Academics. We are very appreciative to Mrs. Manning for presenting about GCISD’s learning platform model of instruction, ASPIRE High School, GT Diversity Task Force. Click here to view the slideshow that includes answers to questions that we did not have time for during the meeting.
In addition, many parents in attendance were concerned about math acceleration, known as “telescoping,” and SAGE would like to to thank the following administrators for attending and discussing with us: Dr. Kaye Rodgers, Director of Virtual Learning for GCISD’s iUniversity Prep; Jennifer Hylemon, GCISD Director of Mathematics; and Dr. Wynette Griffin, Principal of Glenhope Elementary.
You are invited to SAGE’s first meeting of the school year: a Brown Bag Lunch & Learn with special guest Becky Manning, Director of Advanced Academics for Grapevine-Colleyville ISD, who will present an update about the gifted program. Bring your own lunch.
The event is Thursday, Sept. 21. You may arrive as early as 11:30 a.m. and spend a half hour networking with other GT parents. The presentation will begin at noon (feel free to arrive by noon and enjoy your lunch during the presentation).
The location is in the Alamo Room at the GCISD Administration Building, 3051 Ira E. Woods Avenue, Grapevine, Texas 76051.
Admission is free for SAGE members’ families and $5 at the door for non-members. Join SAGE or renew your annual SAGE membership online now!
