This school year has brought changes and challenges that could not have been predicted. Time and time again, we have seen the employees of GCISD step up and make endless changes to their jobs, their curriculum, and their teaching styles. In an effort to provide our students with the best education possible, they have pivoted and pivoted again. Teachers, custodians, food service employees, and administrators have devoted endless hours to help our children thrive in this unprecedented time. Our food service employees have been working diligently towards providing meals for our children during the summer, and to both remote learners and in person learners during the school year. They’ve even added take home dinner bundles at an incredibly low price to help make sure our students have the nourishment they need. We have watched our custodians learn how to clean and disinfect according to their new guidelines to help keep our children healthy. Administrators and their teams have worked tirelessly to plan how our campuses could open while adhering to the ever changing guidelines of the state. Teachers are working incredibly hard to support remote learners and in person learners often having to do double the work that hey would normally do. These individuals have sacrificed their summers and their evenings. With that in mind, SAGE would like to honor every employee of GCISD. We truly could not do this without any of them. Please join SAGE in thanking the employees of GCISD.
