6:00 to 7:00 Workshop

As the parent of a gifted and/or advanced/accelerated student, you’ll want to attend this workshop on Tuesday, October 2nd in the CHHS Library. 5:30 social and 6:00 program.

Workshop

We’re bringing in college planning expert Doug Bryan with “Ducerus – Your Total College Solution.” He will be sharing insider tips and secrets on how to maximize the scholarships that your gifted student deserves. This program has NOT been presented before.

So parents of freshmen and sophomores as well as parents of juniors and seniors will want to attend. Be sure to bring your student as well since they play an important part in this process.

Informal Q&As

After the workshop, three of our SAGE parents who are affiliated with colleges — MIT, Texas A&M Law, and Tarrant County College — answer questions in a casual format:

  • Sean Holly, MIT Alumnus; MIT admissions and informal college admissions advisement for undergraduate and graduate students; VP Manufacturing Operations at Bell
  • Brian Holland, Professor, Texas A&M School of Law
  • Cecilia Solis-Sublette, assistant professor of English and Faculty Academic Advisor, Tarrant County College

To answer questions about local high school resources available for college applicants, we’ve invited Kim Farbisz, SAGE Past President and current parent of a college student.

Bonus!

In addition, as part of Ducerus’ commitment to supporting the community, they will donate $25/parent attending this event —up to $1,000. No action is required on your part.

We will post more details at gc-sage.org and @GCSAGE on social media as the event approaches.
